Celisa’s media circus takes way longer than any of us hoped. Luckily for me I was just asked questions about becoming a dad and a husband before filming some shots on the ice. Poor Wilson got stuck filming as the resident single, eye candy, player this season, we have all been there at some point.

I’m starving by the time we are all done and able to head over to Slapshots. We order some beers and food.

“So are you going to tell us why you wanted to meet with us?” Zane asks.

“Is Penny pregnant?” Mateo asks, causing Zane to choke on his beer and glare at me.

“Jesus Christ, NO! No one is pregnant. Why did I even invite you?” I roll my eyes.

“What did you want to tell us?” Blake sips his beer.

“I’m in love with Penny and I want to tell her. I also want to ask her to move in together.” I confess.

“Seriously?” Mateo says annoyed.

“What?” I ask.

“You are telling us something we all already know.” Blake says.

“So you don’t think it’s too early?” I take another sip of beer.

“It's early but you are raising a kid together and are together 24/7. It makes sense.” Blake says.

Zane is noticeably quiet and I look at him raising my brow in question.

“It is early, but I can see that you really care about her. You don’t need my blessing for this, but you have it either way.” Zane says and I smile.

The rest of lunch is smooth sailing with talks about training camp and end of summer plans. We are paying our tab and we're just finishing the last of our beers when I hear someone call my name.

“Luke! Hey babe.” a blonde walks up saying.

“Um hi?” I ask confused.

“I just got back into town. I missed you. Do you want to go catch up at my place?” She links her arm around mine.

“No thanks. I’m married.” I pull my arm away flashing her my ring.

“And? She’s not here so what is the problem?” She smiles and presses her boobs into my arm.

“You are the problem. I’m happily married and in love with my wife. Now please get away from me before we have a bigger issue.” I spit out, my voice laced in annoyance and frustration.

“Whatever.” Rolling her eyes she walks away.

I continue to finish my beer, annoyed with what just happened.

“It happens. We are athletes and women seem to cling to the stereotype that we don’t care about our spouses.” Zane says.

“It's annoying.” I reply.

“You handled it well. Don’t worry about it. Go home, snuggle Penny and Everlee and forget it happened.” Blake tells me.

We all say our goodbyes, and I head straight home.

When I walk in the door, I immediately pull Penny into a hug kissing her then move to kiss Everlee who is in her swing.

“Are you okay?” Penny asks concern, crossing her face.

“I’m fine,” I tell her.

She gives me a look telling me she doesn’t believe me, so I tell her everything that happened. She just laughs.
